Join us for a leisurely Sunday afternoon in Downtown. Bring anything you’d like to read.
This is a free event, but we encourage you to make a purchase at the venue and help us support local businesses!
About the location:
Bad Beat Brewing is a local brewery and tap room in the Arts District
Click here for their tap menu, plus wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options too
Note: they do not serve food, but you can bring in food from one of the many local spots nearby!
On Sundays, they usually have a popup food cart on the patio
There will be a reading-friendly playlist on, but please bring headphones too if you need them
A variety of seating is available, from comfy chairs and booths to the classic bar spot
Parking is paid in lots nearby or on the street
Nearest library is West Las Vegas Library or East Las Vegas Library
Nearest bookstore is Writer’s Block
What to expect:
When you arrive, you’ll order at the bar and then find a seat with the group, or anywhere else
Our monthly free bookmarks and stickers are at the counter, help yourself!
Seating may be up to availability, so the group won’t necessarily all sit together. Feel free to move if a spot opens up, or choose the spot that suits you best.
If you’d like to meet the organizer to say hello you will see them seated somewhere inside, check Instagram for an update
You are welcome to sit with the organizer if there is a spot open
Spend as much or as little time as you like, the important thing is you showed up and dedicated a little time in your week for reading.
Social aspect:
This truly is a no pressure, low effort environment. Don’t wanna chat? You don’t have to.
If you do want to use this event to socialize, be sure to ask that person if they want to chat too. (Note: at the wine events it’s easy to get chatty! Be sure to sit solo if you’re going more for the reading and less for the socializing, or feel free to join a bigger table to chat!)
